Early rocco mk2s were a flop as they were more expensive than the same spec golf, hence years of catch up. What never made sense was going back to carbs with the Scale and GT2 models. Other than far superior styling you may as well have bought a golf gti at the time.

Roccos are worth only what someone is willing to pay at the time and there isn't much consistency. In my opinion the very early mk2 and GTX are the ones that hold decent money £1500+ and the rest are very much condition based. Modified may lose you money too. Ok guys, one to get your teeth into. Looks like VW fitted the rarest radiator fan in the world to my rococo. It's a 6 bladed black Mirelli Magneti 2 pin plug fan. Now you can get 6 blade 3 pin fans and 4 blade 2 pin (but the plug is the wrong size- too big) for this 1986 GTX. Anyone come across this ...

Common fault with the pierburg choke was the wax stat and caused cold start issues. These only cost a few pounds from GSF and are easy to change. I've had 4 1.8's all with pierburg and only had this problem twice.
