Perfect, thanks :) engine fitting etc is easy enough, it's just the wiring is the issue. If you see parts being listed from a burnt out Scirocco in the near future, something has gone very wrong :)

20vt wiring loom

Has anyone on here converted their own loom to put the 1.8 20vt into a mk2 scirocco? Been reading a write up on how to do it for a mk2 golf (I know it's be different) and it doesn't look overly hard (famous last words)
Just wondered if anyone has a wiring diagram for the Scirocco or even wire ...

I'm up for this :) Ben has gone to the dark side and bought a corrado so he'll have to stay at home. It was at knockhill meet we first met funnily enough. Someone remind me please though as I have a brain like a sieve

So sad to hear this. Sandy always made sure I was well fed whenever we met up. Spent many an hour clueless and covered in oil beside him. He will be missed awfully

hi people. I have a 1986 GT scirocco. Standard except for a Weber on an aluminium mount and a Jetex exhaust. For the last few weeks, the car has been hard to start when the engine is warm. When it does start, it runs perfectly.

I got one from Arnold Clark vw a couple of years ago. The wee boy in the parts dept was obviously to embarrassed to say flange so kept coming up with strange names for it. Was very funny...

Sorry to pull up an old thread but I have put up with a flappy flap exactly like this ever since I got my scirocco 8 years ago. I always just assumed that the neck had been put on wrong when I got it. Is there a definitive answer as to what cap will fix it? Someone said mk2 astra and someone else ...

You'd think that all the cables would be the same length really as they're for the same car.cant find my gsf receipt anywhere so who knows what i've done with it.i know the guys there so i'll give them a phone once i've measured the cables that were fitted.
