Mk2 Shock absorbers instead of inserts

Post by MacColl »

I was going to buy two inserts for the suspension that I had on my previous Scirocco which only did a few hundred miles. The springs are 40mm lowering from GSF and the rear shocks are fine. The front inserts I picked up at that time didn't seem right (actually miss-matched) so was going going to buy new ones to transfer the whole lot to my GT2.

So being aware of the FK deals I found these..

Can I run these with my 40mm lowering springs? They seem to run with the FK equivalent so I take it they should be fine? or would the springs be non compatible? Obviously I would eliminate the struts that take the inserts. Sorry if my question is unclear :dunno:

I'd say yes you'll be fine. But if I'm honest I am only guessing really.
If they work with their lowering springs, they "should" work with any other lowering springs.

I would definitely recommend the spax RSX kit tho. ;-)

Ben.

Well I received the above shock absorbers in the post today and they are actually inserts :dunno: which is fine by me :good: Just a bit more work refurbishing the original shocks to receive them. They have the screw caps which seem right for the Rocco..
