Hi Gayle,
I checked the size for mine (an E plate 1.6) and according to Euro car parts they should be 1765mm long.
What I did was to pop my reg no into their search and it came up with the goods, if you then click on "View Product" it gives you the length in mm's.
Euro are £16.50 each but if you go to carparts4less they are only £10.32 Free standard delivery.
Trying to find a pic of your car for your reg no but unfortunately all the Knockhill pics have been deleted but I'll keep searching other meets.

Found your Reg No and yours are the same as mine 1765mm long, £16.50 from Euro and £10.32 from carparts4less for the same part.
I know where I'd be ordering them from
Might be as well to check some other sites with your reg to see if they come up with the same size.

GSF Reckons 1705mm. And several listings on ebay say 1705mm. But I have also found one at 1692mm

Get your dealer to check part number 171 609 721C, their ETKA system should give you the length.

I am with Ben, I think they should be 1705mm.

I managed to find a copy of ETKA last night. And surprisingly it works too.
They are listed on there as 1700mm.

The spare Topran cables I have with the codes 102 632 21-2010- 0992211270? seem to measure 1700mm using a tape measure. I bought them from..
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/GPC-VW-AUDI-PARTS-01462-768500

However they don't seem to have any on their site just now. I would reckon making sure you or the supplier can measure cables before purchase is the way to go, maybe from another motor factors . I would even consider taking those ones back to GSF once you get others sorted.

If you're stuck you are welcome to use these ones I have for now :good: maybe have another get together with the silver surfers.

Assuming that GSF have supplied the "right ones" at 1700ish and not the longer ones at 1765 this means that they are
1 The wrong size or supplied the wrong (1765) size ???????????
2 Incorrectly routed ???????
3 There is a problem at the back wheel ??????????
4 Any one got any other options ?????????

I have two different sizes in the car and will check the lengths once the footie has finished and it stops raining.

You'd think that all the cables would be the same length really as they're for the same car.cant find my gsf receipt anywhere so who knows what i've done with it.i know the guys there so i'll give them a phone once i've measured the cables that were fitted.

Thankyou everyone for looking, maybe we should have a vote on what cables to buy?and thanks duncan for your cables but i feel bad enough already about the amount of parts i've got from you already.think i owe you more than a few beers already :beers:
