Gutted. To be fair the old girl hasn't given me too many problems until now.
Seems I'm looking around £300 all in. Is there anything I need to be thinking of whilst she's in bits? Any cheeky mods I can do without too much trouble? Anything that can increase performance. Was also thinking of tidying ...

Re: Idiot question alert Re headlight warning buz - please h
Just doing some research, it seems some people have fitted a relay (number 292) to their fusebox, swapped relay No.19 for a relay No.99 an voila. Seems to be a golf mod, but anyone heard of this and know if this is an option on the rocco?

Re: Idiot question alert Re headlight warning buz - please h
so has it just got 2 wires, a black one and a red one? connecting both of them to the fusebox will give it 2 live feeds but no earth, so it ain't gonna work.
assuming it is just a 12V buzzer, then all it needs to make a noise is connecting to 1 live and one earth. i would do this by taking a live ...

Fastest MK2 ever (Well, that's what my speedo says!)
So, driving along today, and my speedo suddenly dropped and is now not working what so ever. Now it shows it's dong well over the max 140mph - even when it's standing still!
Any ideas? Haven't looked under bonnet due to the drought were in. Is it likely to be as simple as a dodgy/broken cable?

Dog guard
Anyone recommend a dog guard? What sort of thing should I be looking for? Was there ever a genuine VW accessory?

Re: Components in the front?
It's such a shame that door pockets to receive larger speakers aren't available to buy off the shelf. Surely they're one of the most asked about products??
These look stunning :)

Re: alternator belt
Get down to your local dealer, ask them for part No: 050 903 137 (at least that's what you need for a DX engine). Should cost you Approx £9.97 + vodka and tonic.

Re: Where to draw the line? Advice needed.
Well, it does sound like a shame to fiddle with such an original, especially one so rare.
My vote would go to leaving your GTL and finding something else to modify.
Only my opinion, of course. Car is yours to do as you please.
Anyways, pics??

Re: Couriers - Alloy wheels
I'll let you know how I get on, but so far Junglist has been spot on :)
Quoted £30 - tidy.
Just hope the wheels arrive safe and sound.
