Re: Storm cuts out but starts again straight away
Thanks for the replies guys, absolutely certain its not contamination from tank (its now like new inside and out). The crap in the fuel filter is from before i refurbed the tank. Filler pipe is like new so its not that. Before i started all this work over winter car ran ok and never cut out its just ...

Re: Storm cuts out but starts again straight away
Tried the above as suggested by Tim R (cheers fella), looped a wire between terminals 30 and 87 and it still cuts out so its not the relay. Checked air flow meter and plunger seems ok and also as it cuts out sometimes when its just ticking over i dont think its related to this. I have removed the ...

Re: Storm cuts out but starts again straight away
Thanks for the reply Ian, air flow meter sounds expensive so might try fuel pump relay first as its getting quite hot and im sure ive read somewhere that they can break down if they get hot. I have actually just put another accumalator (used) on as old one was leaking from the little screw on the ...

Re: Maximum Rim Size before modifications
Hi, on my MK2 Storm i'm running 7.5 x 16 ET20 fronts with 195/40 tyres (no rubbing at all). Rears are 9 x 16 ET15 with 215/40 tyres (very very slight rubbing over big bumps on drivers side). Car is still fitted with original vw suspension and no rear seat passengers ever carried. Hope this helps ...

MK2 Storm servo size?
Hi folks, does anybody know what size servo was fitted to MK2 Storms as standard?
Haynes (1982 to 1990) says scirocco came with 7" or 9" servos, i thought injection models
had 8" as standard.
Reason i ask is was going to upgrade to MK2 golf 16v. Thanks Steve.

Re: Changing CV boot
Take off your old boot and take it to ecp, thats what i had to do as the one i ordered from VW was the
wrong size (even with correct chassis & part numbers).
Helpfull guy at ecp in Leeds got every VW boot out until we found one that matched the old one.

Re: bonnet glue?
I ran my Storm this summer with just glue remaining (scraped sound deadening off in spring),not had any
problem at all.
Not sure about replacing sound deadening as im just in the process of repainting underside of bonnet.

Re: In tank fuel pump
Yes it is the low mileage one your correct. Car is in a garage (recommended by seanr68 on here) in Leeds at the moment so will get them to wip it out and have a look for a number. Luckily working only 300 meters from GSF in Bradford next week so will call & see if they have one. Thank's for that mr ...
