Standard exhaust replacement

Hi, Need to replace mid and rear portions of the exhaust. Anyone got any recommendations on where to get em from? Not looking for any performance parts. Some bits on VW heritage but rather pricey, seen some on https://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/ which seem reasonable, anyone have any experience with...

Re: First car. New member.

Found time to replace the rear clusters toaday, slightly worried about leakage as the old lights had some extra sealant around the oringinal seals, but hopefully it'll be alright.

Managed to get hold of a distributor, S/N 026905206AD should be alright? Right?

Re: Engine cutout with no throttle

Filter near in front of carb looks clear. Accumilator doesn't feel particularly warm. According to the Haynes manual only the early mk2s had the filter under the rear seats. Problem has been happening all year round. Sun/Rain Warm/hot. Chap at the garage drove it 4 times, and typically the problem d...

Re: First car. New member.

Looks like idling problem may be fixed! Took it to a the garage its always gone to (with the previous owners as well), they fiddled around and 'upped the idle' however made the problem worse. (thank god they didn't charge me) Then took it to a old chap who runs a old VW specialist garage, and he com...

Re: First car. New member.

Yeah looks like it is Royal Blue. Still struggling to fix warm engine cut-out issue http://sciroccoregister.co.uk/carforum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19391 Untaped the sunroof, doesn't look like there are any leaks. I cleaned out the run offs with a bit of wire, a fair bit of dirt came out. Turned out ...

Re: What do you idle at?

Hi T33stat, did you notch up just the idle (at the back of the carb) or did you also change the fast idle?

Just wondering as I'm looking to up my warm idle speed?

I'm currently at 750 and I think it's a tad too low.

Cheers

Re: Engine cutout with no throttle

Doesn't appear to be the rubber mount connecting the manifold and carb. Waxstat has been replaced fairly recently according to car history. And the Carb support gasket/inlet man has been replaced. And the Rocker cover gasket has also been converted? I managed to video it happening. I'm applying acce...

Non-UK rear light (fog light woes)

Been trying to hunt down a rear right (facing back of car) black light housing. Finally found a potential light thanks to Blueshark, however the light is the EU (not uk) variant so the fog light spot is covered up. Can I just follow the first bit of this guide (noting that the lights are in a differ...
