Hi mate
Got similar problem with the 2e2 on my wifes
GT, theres a great article on this carb on club gti web site, well
worth a look before you condemn the carb.
If yours is dead then there is a guy on eBay who repairs
2e2's. You can search under pierburg 2e2.
I havent given up on mine yet ...

Re: high tickover.
Hi
had same problem a while back!!
I had to remove the AAV and soak it in carb cleaner for a few days!
This method works well as it doesnt leave any oily residue, such as if
WD40 was used. Think i've got a spare AAV somewhere in my workshop
if you cant free it up.
Best regards

Re: Fuel Pump Relay
Hi
GSF does a direct replacement for said relay,£22 I think.which is no longer
available from VAG. worth checking condition of your
fuseboard if the contacts in the relay are burning.
best regards

Re: uprated fuelpump relay for gtx?
Hi
quick update on the uprated fuel pump saga,
FSE sytec do offer an uprated pump for use with k-jet
fuel injection. It does produce a higher volume at slightly higher pressure
.No mention of uprated or replacement fuel pump relay though.
So sadly i'm no further ahead with this, new relay holding ...

Re: uprated fuelpump relay for gtx?
Thanks for suggestion,i'll take a look at that. i replaced the relay
today and in dismantling the old one i noticed the contact points were
stuck together. thats a fair amount of current flowing to do that!!
thanks very much

uprated fuelpump relay for gtx?
Hi
does anyone know if there is an uprated fuel pump relay
for the k-jet system. My 'rocco is a 1.8 dx engined 1985 GTX.
It seems the last owner fitted an 'uprated' fuel pump by FSE,works great....
But i've gone through a couple of new fuel pump relays in a little over a year!!!
cheers

Re: No fuel to injectors after rebuild
hi
just had a similar problem with my '86 gtx.
don't know if you've already tried this but sometimes the actuator in the
bottom of the metering head sticks, mine was due to rust coming through
the injection system.sometimes fuel would get through, usually for 1 engine
revolution,and then nothing,so ...

Re: what else could my problem be...?
hi ,i've got very similar problem mate!
i traced mine to low fuel pressure in the return line from the W.U.R,
this means that the bi-metallic strip and/or heater isn't working or at least
working well enough to give correct fuel pressure back through the metering head
to the 4 main injectors.

thanks very much for the reference,this week i've tested my AAV,it appears to be in working order eg;
>its clean of carbon
>when warmed, the bi-metal strip moves the plate to allow/not allow air flow as governed by temp control device
