if you are using the kr or abf then there are no injector holes to block up as the injectors sit in the inlet manifold not in the head like the 8 valves

if its been sat for 2 years the first thing i would be doing is checking vaccums for cracks or leaks, also check the carbs rubber mount for cracks or splits, maybe worth checking all your earths to make sure they have a good clean connection

as for your head/block combo the 2lt abf bottom end with 1.8 kr head is a popular combo, if you decide to use the 2ltr bottom end make sure you use the 2ltr distributor, for info on wiring looms and wiring conversion look up a chap called (rub jonny) on most VW forums clubgti etc, any thing he does ...

ignore the bulk head part, as the intake on 16v is on the front of the engine DOH, i was'nt thinking straight, but bike carbs are probably the way to go though.aaron wrote:bike carbs are popular with the 16v lads and will give you more clearance between the manifold and bulk head.

i was wondering if anyone could tell me if there was any differences in the mk2 rocco rear beam through the years, it's just my bushes are knackered and i was going to put some poly's in, but when i checked on ebay they are only listed as 74-82 (mine is an 87 gt) any help would be great thanks.

nothing wrong with a bit of improvisation, it's what modded cars are all about ehNate wrote:i put a 2E with digipants in mine. used a cone filter and made up the pipe with black 68mm down pipe. bit crude, but worked fine

thanks thats great, i'll just bin the air box and get the cone filter, i have all the digi stuff there from a mk2 golf, i've just had to get an after market pump and i need to sort fuel lines and i think i'm sorted, just where to mount the pump on the rocco haha

i'm fitting digifant into the rocco and was wondering if anybody that has done this could tell me what air box they used as the golf digi box does'nt fit, thanks.

brake pedal return spring
can anyone give any advice on re-fitting the brake pedal return spring behind the servo, i have just fitted the 9" servo and 22.2mm master cylinder and i'm all but finished but the return spring is proving to be a nightmare,

just a thought but have you checked your earth connections, make sure there clean, making a good contact and no breaks etc, always worth checking before you pull the starter out.
