Re: GOOD COILS AND SHOCKS SUGGESTIONS

I used this kit off of eBay, arrived (from Germany) in 2 days!
I went for 40mm lower. Ride is a little bit firm, but not bone shaking.

Re: 87 Scala MOT failure - translation required please!!

If it isn't a seized or leaking slave cylinder then it could be a mis-matched pair. There are two different sizes (piston diameter) of slave cylinder that can fit the back brakes. I bet you've got one big & one small. How do i know? I had the same MOT fail - took 3 me retests before I sussed it!

Re: suspension replacement/upgrades

The TA Technix kits from Classic-VW (as recommended by mr.brown) are the same as the ones I bought on eBay (from Germany) in my post above.

Re: Click when stopping

Sounds like the same as mine. I think it's play somewhere in the brake-bar cross linkage. Mine passed the MOT OK though.

Re: Fuel filter required

I'm 99% certain it's the first one - but you can get them much cheaper at Euro Car Parts.
Their website is incorrect though, for the Scirocco they always come up with a plastic inline filter. But if you plug in details for a Golf Mk1 1.8 GTI, you get the right one.

Re: Lower strut brace fitting question

I fitted the OMP lower brace to my car. I was fitting new wishbones anyway & they came with new rubber bushes. I remember the first front bolt went in a dream, but the second wouldn't have it. Only slightly out (less than a mm) but enough to not go in. In the end I slackened the rear mount of the ...
