Hiya
The shocks/springs in my car are old and rotten and need replacing, so have been looking at a good, cheaper replacement.
Bilstein B4's and Eibach lowering springs have been shouted at me so have been looking at them, however they could be over my very tight budget (about £250 all in) not that keen on going for coils at this price as the ride will most likely be dreadful, and the only B4's within budget have been on eBay from a Chinese seller and for £134 for all four corners, making me think they are properly fake.
Any ideas on what the best solution to this is? Thanks in advance!

Re: suspension replacement/upgrades
When i did mine, money was a bit tight too, but i found these on eBay.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/sport-suspen ... SwW8RbIqRt
Comes complete with new top mounts too.
I went for the 40mm lower all round & it looks good.
If i'm honest, the ride is a bit firm, but for the price it's hard to beat.
Arrived all the way from Germany in a day too!

Save some more money as it will be worth it in long run.
When replacing springs and shocks its best to replace strut top mounts and rear rubber top bushes and if you go lower you will need to fit shorter bump stops and dust covers.
Cost of getting the tracking and camber angle set up.. it all adds up.
Well worth the little bit more money, I’ve got a set on my Mk1 Scirocco and it’s a nice ride on the bumpy uneven real life roads and about to buy a set for my Mk1 Golf as feed up with crashing over drain covers...

Re: suspension replacement/upgrades
I'm super happy with the TA Technix kit I fitted to my mk1 Golf cabriolet (same as Scirocco underneath!). Lowered by 40mm (supposedly) and still has a comfortable ride.

The TA Technix kits from Classic-VW (as recommended by mr.brown) are the same as the ones I bought on eBay (from Germany) in my post above.

I like my wallowy boat ride and just replaced all four standard shocks and top mounts for around £100
