Re: Spotted

Got burned up on the A30 by a dark green MkII (F88DOD), I was in my diesel Mondeo and did laugh out loud when the rocco stormed past me :hehe:
Must get mine back on the road, missing it already.

Re: availability of or alternatives to gas-strut inserts

Thanks chaps I did look atthe GSF website before posting here, I was under the impression that the listed inserts were the standard oil-filled ones as they didn't specifically say that they were gas-filled. Anyway, I can give 'em a call and find out. Good call on the Bilstein inserts, to my eternal ...

availability of or alternatives to gas-strut inserts

The Scala is likely going to need some new strut inserts, both front and rear. I've previously used the gas inserts but nowhere seems to list them any more, are they unavailable and if so is there an alternative I can use?

headlights not working

Pre-MOT check on the Scala today and found that the headlights don't come on. The sidelights work just fine so the problem appears to be the dip/main beam switch. With the switch in-situ the main beam won't stay on and the dip beam doesn't work. With the switch removed from the steering column and o...

Re: MOT failure - advice please

Offside front (outer) Front constant velocity joint gaiter damaged to the extent that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt etc - this is just a little rubber thingy (cv boot?) that keeps all the crud out of the cv joint, right? Not sure of the part number on GSF. Easy enough to replace though?...

part number for CV joint

Does anyone know what the VW part number is for an outer CV joint for a 1992 Scala i (DX engine)? Having problems with identifying the correct one but helpfully the online shop allows search on VW part numbers.

Cheers

Re: can you identify these...

Yep, it's a heater. It would have originally been on the pooburg carburettor and someone remembered to swap it onto the Weber. Ex's Golf didn't have this and it ran like crap when cold.
