I recently fitted a new neck to my Scala. GSF had the parts: Mk1 Golf neck and rubber pipe to connect to tank.

I did a detailed post of how to fit in the fueling section.

Also e36 BMW 3 series ones can be made to fit with a bit of heating up, mark h did this on one of his project cars - advantage = they're plastic if you cant track down a new one or a stainless steel one.

Are there different types of mk1 golf filler neck, the one i bought couldn't be made to fit, the top part of it was totally different to a scirocco one?

I think the cabriolet has a different filler neck to the hatch. But either way, the cap end is still different and you can't re-use your original cap.

Check my post in fueling section. You can re-use your filler cap by a bit of careful cutting and welding.

hi all

I have this issue too although its not so urgent as I have LPG, was wondering if anyone had tried to fit and internal rubber or plastic sleeve to the neck instead of have all the issues with replacing the neck its self?
I dont need to use very often and only put 1 gallon in a year, so do you think it would be possible???

let me know your thoughts

Steve
