Re: New steering knuckles for a 1.8t conversion
These are the right ones for your car. All Mk1 and Mk2 Sciroccos were built on the same A1 floor plan, as used on Mk1 Golfs. Mk2 Golfs are quite different. It's when you come to drive shafts you need to make sure they are correct to mate up with the outputs on your gearbox. Sounds like an exciting ...

Re: Possible fuel starvation issues with the GTS
Beware of the effects of ethanol on fuel lines! and carb/injection parts. E10 is obviously twice as bad as E5. I have been wondering whether or when any problems would surface. Obviously the more the car is used the sooner any likely problems would arise, as a daily driver you are more likely to ...

Re: Possible fuel starvation issues with the GTS
This sounds a bit like bits of rust, crud, etc. in the tank. These gradually get sucked up round the filter on the end of the pick up after driving for a while, resulting in lack of power/throttle response. Stopping often allows this obstruction to drop back to the bottom of the tank, but to recur ...

Fuel pump relay
I think the relay to my fuel pump (Mk2 inj. model) has given up.
I seem to remember reading on here that you can bypass this by putting a wire into the two larger sockets to connect them directly as a 'get you home'.
Have I dreamt this or is it the case?

Re: Anyone used a jig from rolloverjigs.com - Help!
The pivot point looks far to high.
All other photos I have seen, it is much closer to the body mountings (bumper mounts).
Are the 2 vertical bars attached to the pivoting bar on the jig adjustable for height?

Re: Water Leak
Corrosion or badly fitting rubber seal in the bottom corners of the windscreen can allow water in. On the passenger side it often goes via the fuse box which can be bad news.

Re: Prospective mk1 scirocco buyer
Re the underside: look carefully for corrosion where the rear beam mounts. This is a known rust location and expensive to repair and, if it does occur, a good bargaining point.
