Re: foolish loss of a MK2

I doubt police would be interested, civil matter, not exactly easy to do things with Cambridge police from Glasgow, my word against his ( txt messages I have them all ) it would seem have no standing, driver Trevor in his 70s possibly unreliable as he works for the garage .

Signed it over , time to ...

foolish loss of a MK2

A sorry tale of how I lost my mk2 G462 DVP – MK 2 Scirocco to a Cambridge garage

In January of 2016, while I was working in Cambridge, Chris ( Motorworld Cambridge ) undertook to respray the Scirocco and various other sundry works, this was to be completed prior to my leaving Cambridge at the end ...

LED for parking and rear clusters ?

Anyone done something like this already ? if so how does it look ? effective ?

Re: Dash clock bulbs

Yes , I had some from ebay a couple of years back, there was even a choice of colour. Had to fit the wire ends of the leds into the bulb holders, its a pain getting the polarity right. Must admit the were disappointing, replaced with std bulbs after a couple of weeks.

Re: What fuel? 95/98/99/103? Shell/BP? Supermarket?

Am doing Cambuslang <-> Cambridge every other weekend 360 miles each way on 39 to 42 litres to fill, have tried shell Vpower, Gulf ? , Tesco Supreme & esso ? all claiming 97 RON, fuel brand don't seem to make much difference to fill. However speed for first 100 miles seems to set the MFA reading for ...

Re: actual vs mfa mpg

Have now replaced white pressure sender and oil pump and mpg readings now a tad pessimististic but far more realistic than before. So guess oil over pressure throwing the mpg calculation off this would suggest folk getting high ( 40 to 50 ) mpg reading has engine oil over pressure probably due to ...

Re: actual vs mfa mpg

Am a bit confused by all this as.

Originally posted to see if any way to make the mfa mpg more closely match actual, whereas thread seems to have turned into how to make actual consumption match the mfa ! ( not quite the same )

Sure I appreciate that driving fast and fuelish, jumping on the ...

Re: actual vs mfa mpg

Had the kjet 'tuned' for 98 ron a couple of months back when I was working in Leek, was running lean , tune made the car a bit more zippy and changed which make of petrol read highest on the mfa ( was tesco ultimate now shell vpower ) but didnt change the mpg as calculated by the andriod app.

Was ...

actual vs mfa mpg

Have a 1.8i scala, mfa ranges from 28 cold about town to a best of 51 after 1/2 hour of 40 to 60 with an ave of 39 for long ( 200 mile + ) motorway drives.

However logging liters in vs miles out gives 31 to 33 regardless . Have been using the 'super' unleaded timing has been set accordingly.

What ...

fitting golf rear bench

Hi,

Have aquired a leather rear bench from a mk2 golf, whats the best way to go ?

a) Remove leather and have it fitted to existing bench / back
or
b) Modify move clips on bench to fit scirocco screw points , what to do with back ( hinged to bench rather than body )

What works ? pitfalls ?
