In the end it was the thermo time switch just to round off this topic, got a second hand one off a kind member for free :) however the 5th injector was broken too.

Re: respray cost

Where are you located? Im in Devon and I could spray your car for less than you would get quoted in any bodyshop.

Re: Hmm.... Issues with DX engine

Interesting to see what the problem is as my GTX is a bit rough on start up sometimes and sometimes takes 3-4 times to start once warmed up and then cooled :S Is a bit embarrassing in a crowded car park... And for reference my engine has marks on the pulley for timing because thats what I had too us...

Re: Show us your Mk2 - picture thread.......

My 89 GTX, Gunna keep it pretty much standard. I'm 19 and live in north Devon, i have been into classic cars all my life, with my dad (mostly British cars from the 60's and 70's, but now the Germans have invaded!) I'm an apprentice paint sprayer so hope to give mine a respray at some point as she's ...

The one i got did work but has not fixed the problem. Might try and test the WUR? im guessing this would regulate the amount of fuel going in?

Re: Bad at starting when cold

Followed the 'Haynes Guide' to check the concerned items and found that the 5th injector isn't working as there's fuel and 12v getting to it and the thermo time switch works. So it looks like a new 5th injector!

Re: Average MPG on LCD not working

That picture looks exactly the same as my engine haha I think the black bits on the end are a bit ropey, ill try and change them. Is it difficult to get to the back of the clocks because I might just check if its even connected!
