Re: Spotted

A quick shout out to a great looking white MK2 leaving Aldi's carpark in Bexhill this Sunday. I was in my "orange" MG B roadster. I never seem to see a Rocco when I'm in mine :-D

Starting problem

Not sure if this should be here or in the electrical section tbh!

Having problems with starting the Rocco.

It does always start but more often than not, needs a really long crank, long enough that I always feel that I'm going to flatten the battery. (I haven't)

Runs OK when started (apart from my ...

Dizzy needed

Hi all

I need a dizzy for my 1.8DX (1986 GTX)

Can find a refurbished offering for a Golf Mk1 1.8 DX around £100. Would this be OK? (It's from Crazy Quiffs)

Anyone else have one or any other suggestions?

Thanks
Jeff

Re: Front seat adjustment

Thanks very much for your replies, gents.

It transpires that the rubber guide had had enough and was found in two pieces under the footwell mat!

New part on the way. Is it replaceable with seat in situ?

Cheers

Front seat adjustment

Cannot get my driver's seat to "click" into the right forward/backward position.

Will I need to take the seat out to fix?

Any pointers?

Re: Spotted

Finally! When i was actually driving my Rocco.

Probably silver Rocco travelling northbound on A21 Sunday 27th managed to get an arm out of the window in lieu of a proper wave!

Re: Hi there - A new owner!!

Niiice Rocco.

Nice Rado. I always wanted a Blackberry/Burgundy Pearl but I ended up with Aqua Blue.

The Rocco is a fantastic car, I hope you have a long and enjoyable ownership!

Not a broken clutch cable but.......

..........it sure felt like one.

Tuesday after Cosford I depressed the clutch at a junction....bang.... classic snapped clutch cable sound but the pedal/cable pulls the actuating arm up.

There's no resistance when depressing the clutch pedal though.

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Re: Disappointing GTX news

I have phoned both the salvage company and the insurance co to tell them that I do NOT want the car taken away.

Will be interesting to see how much they will value the car at.

Re: Disappointing GTX news

Thanks to all for your responses which pretty much reinforce what I was planning to do.

It was due for an MOT anyway (!) and I'm very tempted to start getting the work done on a non-urgent basis as I've got a lot of the parts likely to be required already.

Cheers

Disappointing GTX news

Well, following a seemingly fairly innocuous accident, the insurance Co have decided to write the car off. I only know this as I had a phone call from a salvage company out of the blue asking when they could collect the car! No contact at all from the insurance Co or their engineers although I now ...

Re: Finally a dry Sunday, so who was out?

Mine's a daily so I would have been out in it today but it's awaiting an accident repair estimate at the garage. One rather worried GTX owner here.
