Ive got a build thread somewhere down the pages, hasn't been updated in a while due to me being out of the U.K and the car being in storage.

Re: New member - Mk2 GT2
Great yeah that would be great to see some old photos. Definitely be interested in learning a bit of detailing from you too! Yeah the wheels will be a practice really. Not 100 percent sure how I am going to get the paint off as I only have sand paper at the moment. Could be a long day haha. Could ...

Re: New member - Mk2 GT2
I hadn't thought of that to be honest - I take it that is putting pics up of any works I do? Sorry I am a bit of a novice on the forum side of things! Talking about the wheels has spurred me on to purchase some sanding equipment, primer, lacquer and spray paint for the wheels today mind (many ...

Re: New member - Mk2 GT2
Yeah the steels are in my garage awaiting a refurb but I do like the ats which I took off my old car. Yeah got the service key and put all the receipts and that into a file now in date order. I love all that business - a bit sad I know! I am planning on attending a few shows in the new year. Yeah ...

Re: New member - Mk2 GT2
Brilliant - thanks for the update! It's good to know that the story the bloke told me was true and backed up by the history file for it! Matt was the guy who bought it from you apparently - he took the bump strips off and put some aftermarket OZ wheels on I believe... Unless that was yourself ...

Re: New member - Mk2 GT2
No I bought it from a bloke in Yorkshire a few months ago! The bloke who bought it off you (I am guessing?) had it for a few months but then bought a mk1 fiesta which he has always wanted apparently. Were you related to the original owner who had it for 18 years or however long it was? Small world ...

Re: Mountney GT Steering Wheel. Small spline Boss kit
I just did a quick search on eBay, they have polished aluminum mountney centre horns for around £16. A bit bling for me, but could always paint it black if you can't find a plastic one.
Just had a thought, I'm sure my boss had a horn button included, yours might too.

Re: Mountney GT Steering Wheel. Small spline Boss kit
I had an astrali wheel and used the original centre horn push button. I had to adjust the wiring slightly as that only had one wire for the horn.
I'm sure eBay should bring up some centre horns to fit a mountney wheel.

Re: knocking
Just a few ideas for you to look at. Engine mounts allowing side to side movement? ARB bushes tired? If you have done wishbones then i presume that the clamps and outer bushes looked ok, How about the inners on the wishbone rear mounts? Hub to suspension strut bolts torqued up correctly? The screw ...

Re: knocking

Ive also had new ball joints on the wishbones done less than 500 miles ago, i didnt do the track rod ends so maybe ill do them too while im working on it. I did have knocking on acceleration and decleration just after the clutch, the engine mount ...

knocking
The time has come for me to start looking at fixing my scirocco after getting annoyed with it and ignoring it. My problem is there is a loud knock everytime the car changes direction. Its fine on acceleration and braking and during cornering, just on weight transfer left/right. You can also feel the ...
