How do I find somewhere that can sort out the alignment and camber on my suspension after it was lowered? I've got no idea what sort of place I'm looking for.
Anyone with a Birmingham-based recommendation, speak up.

Re: Alignment and camber
Some tyre places can do it if they have the equipment and know how, many don't as they can't even set up the tracking properly !
My cousin works here, http://www.midlandvw.co.uk/home.html
I've not used them but I know he is a complete VW nut as are his work mates and I sure they will do a good job.
If you look in the gallery at the cars you can see his mk2 golf with 330bhp! (Aaron's mk2)

Re: Alignment and camber
this is a pain in the ass to set up. i did mine using a plank of wood against the bottom of the wheel/floor with the other end on the plastic wing trim then measure the gap between the top of the wheel to the plank.
then change the shock and when put back together measure and adjust the gap at the top of the wheel against the plank.
this way the camber should be roughly the same as it was before you fiddled withit but it is a two man job.
the tracking will need to be done after but this can be done for 30 quid.
ile be honest ed the most garages will do is the tracking here in brum not many places do camber. the only place that would do the camber for me was vw at 200 quid.
this is how i did the camber on my rocko when i lowered it.
i can pop down n give you a hand if you like, just gimme a bell on the weekend or something.

Re: Alignment and camber
Thanks, James. My comrades at the local MX5 club have recommended these guys in Dudley http://www.alineyourcar.co.uk/ and also a place called Chemix in Stourbridge and Halesowen. I'll give one of them a look as they're a bit closer to me.
