Me rear view mirror dropped off!

Post by DJCarlos »

Got in the car this morning and the interior mirror has just dropped off!

It's not broken, all intact, just a little rectangle of clear sticky plastic on the windscreen where it used to stick.

What's the best way of reattaching? I've tried those sticky pads from Halfords in the past but they weren't that great IIRC.

The loctite stuff which has mesh that you cut to size and add a liquid bonding agent to is very good. Detach the mirror from its metal mounting before you stick the mount to the screen, so it can stick properly.

2pack mirror glue is the way forward. mounted my satnav with it. loads heavier than a mirror and stays stuck no matter how hot the van gets

This happened to me when my son got in the car and bashed his head against it. :shocking:
I've tried the suction pad mirrors but they are not very good.
Thanks for the advice - I'll try it.

I used the little mesh and glue last week when my mirror fell off, stuck firm now.
Best the clean the windscreen with white spirit to get all the old residue off.
