that's all i needed to know, thanks dude. seeing as i can get proxes for less than a fiver extra for a full set, i think i know where my money will be going
They had a stand at the Autosport show back in January and they seemed to be making a big thing about the fact they'd put some colouring into the rubber to make the tyres reddish brown and with a pattern to appeal to the "tuner" market. Figured that told me everything I needed to know and to avoid!

going mostly off topic...
Where they on an Alfa? A Brera or Guiletta I think? They had quite an attractive young lady decorating the stand as well if I'm thinking of the same stand.
Range Rover Evoke I think it was, I don't remember any ladies on that stand, attractive or otherwise, actually, I don't remember anyone on the stand at the time I walked past.
ive got marangonis on my rocko and they seem ok to me. ihad firestones before and i can say the marangoni are better in the wet and they came with a lifetime warranty against punctures

I found that the lifetime warranty for punctures was a bit of a gimmick really as the customer had to pay for the portion of tread that they had used if the tyre was a write off. Kumho's give much better wear and feedback and easily 10-20% cheaper than Toyo
They were on my Lotus Elise when I bought it. Probably the worst tyres I've ever driven on. Apart from some truly awful Tigars that were on an old Scala I had...

You've never tried age hardened Roadstone Dark Horses or Star Performers then? My old 309 GTI came on them and I kept it on the road for 3 days before unintended lift off oversteer chucked me into a hedge at 40 mph. I lost count on how many track days I did on them though!
