What is going on with this forum?

Post by MacColl »

I've just got new broadband and was looking forward to a browse on here as a paid member and the formatting/visual of the forum is a nightmare, in some sort of admin mode?

Is it just me or is it being worked on? Or am I missing something??

Just a comment also about the slow speed, thought it was my previous broadband.

Anyway sorry for my grumpiness, trying to sort out car insurance ATM and am getting a bit fed up with it all.

Just to top it off my rear view mirror came off the windscreen yesterday and my heater fan has started squealing louder than ever :crying:

No, I'm only getting a text-only format of the forum too, so I guess it's a problem at the server end.

It's a problem at the supplier end unfortunately. Spoke to Ant last night and it's in the process of being sorted.

^^ ^^ ^^ :hehe: that one made me chuckle. I rather liked the early 1990s text only format.

That was the forum running on limp home mode. Normal service should be resumed now for all?

Glad about that, the last few days I've had 404 errors (after a text only pagefest :read: ). :good:

It's good to see things back to normal :good:

I'll just add that I hope I didn't come across as someone moaning at the people who clearly put a lot of time into the forum.

Never felt any bad atmosphere on here and I would admit it can be a great resource and be a great place to hang out in an therapeutic way certainly for me. I'm finding Uni pretty stressful and it's good to switch of on here and some of the other forums.

I had to laugh driving home today having already had my rear view mirror fall off the screen, the hellish squeak of the heater fan, continual leaks of coolant that I don't have time to address and then todays saga where my alternator failed :dash: Anyway luckily had a spare alternator and fitted it out in the freezing cold. Drove home with the squeak of the alternator belt and the fan like some sort of clown car :hehe: Tightened the belt belt now :good:

Appreciate the work sorting the forum

Cheers :bye:

Just to reiterate my thanks for whoever sorted out the forum, and whoever maintains it generally.

A lot of sites I go to on tinternet I can take or leave, but a few things (spotify, this site etc.etc) I really couldn't do without.

For the last couple of days I felt a bit lost and wondered what I would ever do without this place, next time I need advice with the old banger. :dunno:

So yeah, glad to see this place back - phew.
