Help!

Post by batman »

As the sun is out I thought i'd get a few jobs done on the Scirocco today. I've just replaced the air filter with a nice new k&n one, but after replacing the air cleaner cover and re-fastening the clips, I dropped the mounting nut into the engine bay - doh! It looked like it went in behind the alternator and I can't find it - it definitely isn't on the driveway either! Now I can't find a suitable nut to take it's place. Firstly, can someone tell me where to get a replacement, and secondly, is it safe to use in the mean time? Thanks

Got a jetwasher? If so, give the area where you think the nut has gone a little blast, should see it drop out to the floor then. Try and keep the water away from air intake and spark plugs etc etc though.

ive heard a good way is if you have a good hover get the hose and put a thin sock over the end and tie it on the extending pipe with a rubber band and hover around that area it should suck onto the sock .
