Im looking at upgrading my front brakes to 256mm discs.
I have been offered some G60 calipers, carriers and hoses for a very reasonable price, would these fit with the 16V golf discs?
I’ve had a look at the faq entry and it doesn’t mention them, is there a way to get them to work?
Cheers

Re: Upgrading brakes - G60 Calipers
Just get some 280mm discs. They're 280/22mm. If you're planning on sticking them straight onto your standard disc setup, there's gonna be roughly 20mm of the pad that's not gonna touch the disc. You'll get dangerous operation out of the brakes.

Re: Upgrading brakes - G60 Calipers
Will I be okay fitting 280mm under my 15’s?
What exactly is the list of things I will need:
G60 (Lucas 54) calipers
Carriers
Hoses
280mm Discs
Pads
Someone mentioned a slider kit??

Re: Upgrading brakes - G60 Calipers
Not sure what a 'slider kit' is, but you should be fine fitting up to 280mm on 15" wheels. Corrado G60's have 280mm brake setup and 15" wheels as standard...ash-lough wrote:Will I be okay fitting 280mm under my 15’s?

Re: Upgrading brakes - G60 Calipers
The G60 carriers wont bolt up to the Rocco (mk1 goof) front hubs dude... And i wouldn't recommend the adapter brackets as i've heard some horror stories about them
Get yourself a pair of mk2 golf 16v hubs, front coilies, bottom ball joins, steering arms & track rod ends and then the G60 set up will bolt straight on. (need to re-drill the rocco wishbone for the mk2 ball joint)
Can help you out with this conversion if you like dude
I'm currently fitting the above, but with Porsche 4 pots and a 280mm disc

No. They won't fit under Ats Cups. 256mm will but your chances of finding the carriers are slim.ash-lough wrote:Will I be okay fitting 280mm under my 15’s?
You will need Audi 80 carriers (74mm spacing) & Golf Mk2 calipers.
Good luck.
It's gonna be a good summer.
