I was going to go down the 16v g60 route (i even bought the 16v g60 integration kit from BBM) but it was going to be too expensive as i didnt even have the charger. I will probably make it a future upgrade. At least i have some of the parts needed lol.

I installed a very important part today....

Progress has been a bit slow recently as I’ve been waiting for parts and I have imminent exams for my Masters.
I put some oil in the engine the other day and she turns over nicely, getting good oil pressure.
Megasquirt is all wired up and sees an rpm and the temp sensors are all calibrated, although I think I might overload my 12v source once everything is up and running, I'll have to wait and see.

I have gone for MS2-Extra using a single coil and distributor hall sender. Got it from Extra EFI http://www.extraefi.co.uk, really helpful bloke.
Not sure on the performance, I think the ACE engine produced something like 135bhp standard. Seeing how this has a ported head and i've got MS im hoping it will be at least 150-160bhp maybe more.

A few pictures to show some things:

So here is the dubpower exhaust test fitted, there is plenty of clearence between this one and the steering boot, drilled a hole for the lambda sensor boss, need to get it welded now:

I got an ABF distributor cap so that there is some clearence between it and the brake fluid reservoir, works quite well:

Car now has an MOT, only the rear wheel bearings needed tightening up a bit.
Although im getting this strange knocking sound from somewhere in the engine and cant work out where its comming from, not sure if its the head or the block or whether its detonation :? . A little bit scared to drive it incase i damage it.

Here is a final pic of the engine:

Car made it the 200 mile trip from my parents house in Dorset (where i did the conversion) to home in south derbyshire. Seeing how it's got a very basic megasquirt tune its got some go! Got some issues with the exhaust rattling on the ARB but nothing major.
Here's a few pics of its first post engine conversion wash:
