Nice car, was tempted by it myself. Nice to see it being looked after. Where did you get the B-pillar vinyl from?

Cheers dubboy. I hope to get to a meet at some point. I got the vinyls from here http://volkswagenstickers.co.uk/index2. ... rch&cat=15

Very good quality. You must make sure the surface is spotless. ;)

Got my car back from AutoMark in Stockesley. It is a different car now. Idle is 850 solid with no dips or lumpiness. Drives very smooth and starts first time on the button. Very pleased.

I have started the bodywork now. There was some very small splashes of white paint all over the car like a fine overspray. This has all been removed now. To do this it involved machine mop, then clay bar. Then stage 1,2,3 of meguiars deep crystal system.http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... =IOV4PLPZ1

It now has a deep smooth glass like finish. Really came up well. However it is very tiring so I just did one panel at a time so as not to get lazy and rush it.

I have now got my long awaited BBS RA wheels thanks to Mr Edmundator. Really pleased. They are in excellant condition with matching Bridgestone Potenza RE720 tyres. Cheers Ed. :good:

A few shots before it rained (again)

that looks superb - especially on my old wheels. they were refurbed in 2006 and i'd owned them since 1990 before Ed bought them off me a year ago.
