A minefield - possibly none of the above. There appear to have been quite a few variants and supersessions. You're probably best to ask the seller to check which functions the switch supports - I think VW called the intermittent function interval delay.
Have you considered dismantling the switch and cleaning the contacts? I remember doing that for my 1980 Mk1 VW Derby back in the day.
