Scirocco Storm Mk1 1980 Wiper Arm

I need a new wiper arm for the front screen. Anyone got one or have any ideas on a substitute fix. it is of course the single sweep arm. My existing arm has shredded its splines to a smooth surface over the past 40 years.

I think the splines are self-cut in the arm by the shaft. If the splines on the shaft are clean and sharp, there are a few fixes suggested online, including inserting an aluminium strip from a drinks can, which might just tighten it up enough for the splines to get a grip.

Thanks for the suggestion. May be worth a try if conventional sources fail to find a replacement part or an alternative fix using other VW assemblies.
