windscreen instalation

Post by james butler »

has anyone installed a windscreen before?
ive taken two out and broken both of them and would guess the same would happen trying to get it back in?
is there a method to getting them back in or does anybody recommend a firm or know anyone who would put mine in for cash?
i dont need it in yet but im very conscious it will need doing sooner or later especially as i cant take the car anywhere at the moment because of no tax or mot.

Some suitable string wrapped round the rubber, bit of silicone lube or ky, get someone to push the screen in while you pull the rope out. Quite a few how to vids on facetube

If you do fit it your self using the string method, when pulling the string/cord to get the seal over the metal move it in a circular motion so it lifts the seal so you don't tear or rip the rubber seal on the metal.
