Well just over a week ago I was on my way home when my daily(Audi 2.5 tdi 180 quattro) cut out with a lot of burning rubber smell. Called the AA and they confirmed a shredded cambelt which is never good news but gauling as I spent £3500 on servicing in October inc cambelt waterpump vibration damper all belts pulleys tensioners radiator air con compressor discs pads tyres brake fluid oil and filter service clutch flywheel.
I got the car recovered to the garage and the following morning they confirmed a seized waterpump - it had wrecked the engine.
However the company who supplied the part were liable but I have had find alternative transport for the interim.
It has was torture getting the car filthy on my 60 mile round journey through country lanes but boy oh boy has it been fun and after 10 days it's been good therapy - with 5 months tax remaining I promise to actually drive the car rather than polishing it all the time
