For some reason, both the drivers side and passengers side door rubber seals have decided to disengage from the inner frame of the doors simultaneously (or nearly simultaneously).
Got an MOT coming up - I gather I can get these back on with something like 3M VHB tape?
Clean up seal and frame ...

Re: Blower Fan Broken
Thanks for that.
Slight update - I had a look and I've actually got the thing going again by rotating a few times by hand and just shooting a bit of WD40 generally in the motor etc. - popped a new fuse in and it works, but only on setting 3 of the switch indicating to me that the resistor is gone ...

Blower Fan Broken
My heater blower fan just suddenly stopped working the other day.
Have pulled fuse (14 I think) and was obviously blown. Tried another fuse. No response. So now assuming the motor has seized or similar.

Re: Water leaking from boot tailgate
Just to report back in case it helps anyone else:
Although I haven't purchased the lock surround yet, my boot has appeared to be dry so far even in this heavy rain etc. we have been getting. Suspect it could have been clearing out of that drain hole near the lock.

Re: Water leaking from boot tailgate
Ah, got it!
Cheers for that. It appears there's hardly anything left of the surround around the lock, so a new one is in order.
Also, poked around that drain hole too, which was partially blocked.
Thanks for the replies ;)

Re: Jacking up and axle stands
I recently did an oil change from above with a pump for the first time, it was very straightforward and extracted the amount of oil I expected, so I'm confident there wasn't much remaining in the sump. Much easier, quicker and more pleasant than draining the oil using the sump plug!
I at last ...

Water leaking from boot tailgate
Recently in this rain we've been having I noticed that when I open the boot, water gushes down from the tailgate.
More specifically, 99% of it comes from the lock like a tap, as if it has collect there and then streams out from the centre of the lock when the tailgate is opened.
There is a fair ...

Re: Jacking up and axle stands
Thanks for all the useful hints on this thread. Even if I can do it without jacking it up, still some very useful info on raising the car for future reference. I like the hint about the jacking it up from both sides at once.
On another note, to do with oil changes - just while we're here - has ...

Re: Jacking up and axle stands
By the way, on my Mk2 GTII it is fairly easy to change the oil without raising the car. The filter can be changed from above and you just have to be able to reach the sump plug underneath.
Oh hold up. This is interesting.
I was under the impression that one had to have the sump at a slight ...

Re: Tyres for Scala?
Thanks for your advice!
I have gone for Goodyear Vector 4 3rd gen (all seasons) where I got a deal from National Tyres for 15% off, so I got them for £278 for a set of four fully fitted.
I chose all seasons because I don't really hammer the car, even in the hot and dry (max 80 mph I do on the ...

Jacking up and axle stands
(slightly) embarrassingly, begin a novice, I have never jacked up and supported a car on axle stands. I own a low profile jack and some ratchet stands which I bought a few years back, and are obviously in good condition, having never been used.

Re: Inner headlamp part numbers etc
Sorry about the late reply to this, I've been tied up.
Thanks so much mate for the advice, I do seem to remember I actually knew that at one point (The "Top R", "Top L") thing, and forgot it!
Why do they always seem to be "Top R"? Just my luck!
Anyway, I'll keep scouring ebay, will have a look at ...

I've got some part numbers from the seller that are apparently actually stamped on to the glass, as I couldn't quite make them out in the photo.

Inner headlamp part numbers etc
I've actually made a post requesting a passenger side inner headlamp (full beam light? Square in shape) on the pats wanted section, but have just noticed one on ebay.
Am finding it difficult to make out the part numbers etc. on mine.
Is there a difference between the drivers side and passengers ...

Tyres for Scala?
I'm gonna treat the old girl to a full set of shoes. What are we recommending nowadays?
I'm thinking "Mid range" tyres are ok? How about the Yokohama Blu Earths? I have only one set of rims so figuring all seasons probably best. I only ever do about 80mph max.
