Re: Lowering my mk2?
if you arn't going low and care about ride quality you're much better off getting shocks / springs. you'll have much better ride quality and handling than with a cheap set of coilovers. You can get new factory spec dampers for under £100 and uprated bilstein ones for under £200 on ebay. then mate th...

Re: Custom boot / arches carpeting
wow, thats impressive. i think i'll save you the hassle of sending a template over, mate. Ive got a joiner mate who'll give me a hand with all the tools and knowhow (when it comes to making the wooden bits anyway) i'd need. I was wondering how pliable the fabric would be, a like to the stuff you use...

Re: Custom boot / arches carpeting
Mk1 or Mk2 or Mk3 Scirocco? Mk1 Storm models were supplied with carpeted inner arch covers and boot mat as standard -good for a template. Mk2 GL, GTI, GTX and GTL were supplied with inner rear arch covers as standard. Source a set from a breaker? Mk3, dunno. I can see the reason for the carpeting o...

Custom boot / arches carpeting
I'm on with giving my car a good freshen up over the winter. The boot is looking a bit worse for wear to be honest. The arches have the odd scuff and scratch from be being a klutz when loading by gear in and out. anyway, i'm thinking of carpeting the whole of the boot, that includes the tailgate, bo...

out of that selection i'd go for either the slotmags or the work equips, but have a look at hayashi streets, i'm loving those at the moment. +1 for watanabes too. i'm running some 6.5j ones with gold centres and love them.

full beam mechanism
a good few months ago now my flu beams / flash stopped working, since its mot time soon, i figure its about time i sorted it. the problem isn't in the lights themselves or the wiring, its the mechanism on the steering column. The indicators work fine, but pushing and pulling them doesn't do anything...

Re: Stainless fuel filler necks
what about a glass fibre filler neck? relatively cheap and easy to make, and a good por15 treatment would make it as stable as any stainless / plastic one.

Re: If money weren't an object (performance)
its gotta be the rb26dett conversion that came up a few weeks back. easy 500bhp with scope for over a thousand, all through a clever 4wd system.
