Anther day another problem, well that what it feels like sometimes! The other night the fan belt started to squeak, a lot, so last night I loosened the adjuster nut to tighten the belt, then the whole alternator fell off! Somehow there was no bolt holding the bottom on to swivel on! Then I changed ...

Got the last two door strips off (and a little bit of paint

Well it passed MoT with no bother, now taxed and fully on the road. Got a few gremlins to iron out before shes good enough to be using every day.
First issue is the rear axle, pretty sure the bush is away on the drivers side, prob just get a normal bush instead of a poly bush, its hard enough as is ...

Yes very busy! not all done yet, got spacers on the front and rear now but susp height will need adjusted once I get skinny tyres back on it.

well it's been more than a while since I updated this thread, after selling an A6 I had, I've finally got abit of cash to get the ball rolling again. Long story short alot of things have been sorted, a few things still to do. Getting MoT'd tomorrow then hopefully finally get round to fitting the ...

Quick update, progress is slow! But hopefully should pick up now.
Anyway got the head off, cleaned up all the valves and ground them in again, gave the head a basic skim then painted it. That took a while to build the primmer and paint up, but definatley looks worth it in the end, also did the ...

Replace the bonnet?
Unless there is something much worse under the touch up paint, take it back to bare metal, prep it and paint it (although blending can be a problem).
It's the rust at the rear quarter I would be more worried about.

I was hoping to avoid changing the doors and bonnet but that seems to be what everyone is saying will be easiet, and that large peice of rust is actually on the door not the chassis.
