Re: Engine dies on start up
Check the connections to the aav. I had this issue and it turned out to be a electrical short through perished wire touching the aav body.

Re: Mk2 horn not working but relay clicking
Hi. When you find the horns (bolted to the underside below the battery tray), they often fill with crud from the wheels. I have had this symptom on many Scirocco's. Before you condemn them as scrap. remove them (2 13mm bolts, from memory) tap them with a hammer a spray loads of wd40 into them and ...

Re: true valuation
Just had the same thing. Car was an easy repair, aprox £200. Insurance still wrote the car off. As long as you are nit with Hastings you should be ok. When it is assessed you need to ask that you have cash in lieu of repair. They should let you keep the car minus the salvage value which is somewhere ...

Re: Written off by Hastings Premier
I contacted the salvage company and the answer was "Yes I can buy it back, all I had to do was pay a membership fee of £50 & then I could bit for it like everyone else" I will say that i was impressed with the speed of claim settlement & the valuation that was given on the car that was written off.

Re: Written off by Hastings Premier
So, after pleading with them I have been unsuccessful in keeping my car... It's being collected by the salvage company 17/11... They did make me an offer I am happy with.
Now the car wont start and it seems to have blown the crankshaft oil seal.. Funny how things work out.

HI, Has anyone managed to keep there car after they say it's a write off ? Long story short, I hit a car up the rear. Minor damage to the quashqui. Bent the front wing and broke a headlight on mine.. Assessor has written off my car, saying it's beyond economical repair... What nonsence. It's already ...

Hi, I read about your plight.. It's fuel starvation... Nothing to do with the electrics.. The millage is far too low for dissy wear. Check the inline filer by the rocker cover for particals of rust. Also when you are experiencing this issue feel the fuel accumilator on the front of the head. If its ...

Re: Oil pressure switch problems.
The light comes on when the circuit is closed. probably the wrong sender switch supplied or its a case of the earth strap on the head.... As long as you see oil being thrown about in the rocker cover then you have oil pressure. You would know within minutes if you had no pressure as your engine ...
