When I press the button from my steering wheel I can hear the relay clicking but nothing from the horn - Can anyone tell me where I can find the horn and which troubleshooting steps I should take first?
Cheers

I had this recently and fuse 16 had blown. Also check the connection to the horn as it may have corroded. If the relay clicks, its nothing to do with the steering wheel.....

Cheers for the quick reply Steve - I'll check the fuse first, can you tell me where the horn is located? I have an '85 GTII

Hi. When you find the horns (bolted to the underside below the battery tray), they often fill with crud from the wheels. I have had this symptom on many Scirocco's. Before you condemn them as scrap. remove them (2 13mm bolts, from memory) tap them with a hammer a spray loads of wd40 into them and repeat the hammer application. you can test this theory has worked by connecting them across the battery before refitting.
If it is not broken, Do not fix it !!!
