Reluctantly selling my Scirocco after 8 years. I just don't use it enough and it's time for someone else to enjoy this awesome car! Feel free to make me an offer. I'm happy for you to come and take a look and I'll try to take you for a drive.

It's a great runner and ready to be driven away. Four owners from new, including myself. It was originally a company car, and then kept within the same family until me. The injection engine is nice and pokey and always starts first time. Mechanically everything is very sound - the gearbox feels smooth (except for the usual slight crunch from 1st to 2nd when cold, fine if you double declutch) and has as short shift fitted, although the stick is a little sloppy. It had a new clutch a few thousand miles ago, as well as new Bilstein shocks on the front.

Filler neck was removed around three years ago and painted with rust proof paint, all looked solid when it went back in. The clutch cable bulk head also had a panel put in for strengthening around the same time.

Factory fitted electric windows, electric mirrors and headlight washers.

The car is unmodified except for a tape deck with aux in, JBL speakers and sub if you want it.

Bad points:

MOT - due at the beginning of Feb. My mechanic had a look over it and said it will need brake pipes cleaning (these were replaced a few years ago so should still be in good condition), new wiper blades, and new tyres (I think they are the front two). He quoted £350 for the work, but obviously someone with the time and inclination could do this for a lot cheaper.

The paintwork is a bit tatty. Jade green in colour. The front end was professionally resprayed a few years ago and looks great, although a small amount of paint is flaking off on the bonnet (see pics). There is surface rust under the rear passenger side windows, and the passenger door has a rust spot in the bottom corner, causing the trim to come away slightly. There are generally a number of other small chips and bits of chipped lacquer. The Pirelli wheels are also not in top notch condition, but they're ok.

The mileage counter hasn't worked for a while. It reads around 67,900 but will be closer to 90,000 now. I can only estimate this, but I don't use the car very often - at most, a ~250 mile journey every month.

Various bits of the interior are a bit knackered. I'll try to be thorough here - Nothing really major, just a load of little things that I haven't had the time to sort out which could mostly be done easily.

Neither seat tilts forward when pulling the lever - you need to reach over and pull the clip by hand. Really easy once you get used to it (I've lived with it for ages) but replacing the cable should be straight forward enough to sort out. The seat tilt lever has come off the driver side (you can still pull it) and the recline knob is also missing from the passenger seat. Driver seat has the usual slight wear on the bolster.

MFA LCD has gone black. Centre console lights not working.

A few little tears in the headlining. Sunroof has had watermarks since I bought the car, but has never leaked since I've had it.

Parcel shelf clips are broken and is missing suspension cables.

Rear footwell is self-cleaning when it rains! This only happens occasionally and I've never figured out where the water comes from.

Electric windows don't work. Maybe a fuse?

Driver side electric mirror doesn't work but can be adjusted by hand. I fixed the mechanism with a cable tie before, so this probably just needs replacing.

Needs a good clean! Especially the rubber seals - they're covered in moss. A couple have also cracked a bit.

The speedo stopped working last night. Probably just the cable needs poking back in as this happened once before. Central locking has also been a little flaky.

I'll update if I think of any further details. I'll also add some photos shortly (for now you can see it in my sig). I'll be listing this elsewhere. Might be able to drop the car off within a reasonable distance for travel costs, but can't guarantee.

Thanks for looking.

Pictures:

All but the first one were taken today. It no longer has the round yellow fogs, and I'll be selling it with standard clear fogs.

I think it's a fair reflection of the condition of the car :-)

:-( Im feeling a bit gutted for you chap,as i have only just really looked at the pics, all i can say is that i hope it has gone to someone who will actively keep it alive-they can afford to.
Practical classics February 2017 gives a wide guide price.
I have just sold two of my "injections",one on here with no response ,no interior and running (only just )needed quite alot for an MOT, and i was not getting it done -sold easly for £500,another needed paint down one side, other than that in fine fettle-nothing else needed and struggled to get much more than a grand,so thats whats really happening !
Hopefully you will get a windfall and buy another!

Cheers dubster. I actually didn't sell it in the end. I couldn't part with it and managed to justify keeping it - the chap buying was very understanding!

Oh looks like I'm getting confused. I've never been to Leicester but I'm sure I've had parts from you!
