Re: How to remove mk2 roof gutter trim

I have always done it as one piece, they slide either forwards or backwards(can't remember which way, it's been a while) onto a kind of mushroom shaped post. They can be a bit tight to get moving and will break if you are too rough with them.

That is the full kit. You can get kits without the rods and ball bit if yours are ok, but if they have never been done ...

Re: photobucket

The issue isn't the amount of photos you have, it's Photobucket being money grabbing b@st@rds.
They have changed their T&Cs to block all 3rd party hosting unless you pay for the highest level account from them.

There has been a lot of discussion about this on the various forums I use.

All is not ...

Re: Has anyone put a 1.8t in their mk2

Hi,

I have done 2, there are a quite a few others on here that have done it too.
Have a search through the projects section and you'll find loads of information.
It is the same as doing it in a mk1 golf, they are essentially the same car.

Re: Braking problems!

Also, when you fitted the rear shoes did you adjust the adjuster wedge?
Commonly forgot/unknown about and makes a massive difference to the braking.

Sad news. He was a genuine enthusiast, always happy to help in any way he could, even if it was just with his seemingly endless supply of cakes and biscuits. He will be missed.

Slow progress and no updates for a while. But this is a bit of a rwd beast. Not exactly your average rwd conversion and probably not street/track friendly but one hell of a car either way.

I have a few bumpers, no slam panel though.

You may need to come and visit my stash(es) at some point.

Re: 1985 scirocco GTX barn find restoration

Off the top of my head I've got doors, wings, tailgates, possibly a bonnet, assorted glass, steering racks, maybe a rear beam, various switches, outer headlights, hubs & driveshafts.
Don't think I've got any indicators and I definitely don't have any rear arches.

Re: 1985 scirocco GTX barn find restoration

Looks like a really good starting point. Rear arches are a pretty common rust trap, especially on cars with the body kit. There was someone on here making them though.

That resistor is for your interior fan speed. Never heard of it being a fire hazard in a Rocco.

I have quite a lot of spare parts ...

Speak to Willie at dubnutz. He makes them, excellent quality 2.5 or 3 inch. I have one of his on my Corrado.

Re: Help/advice please folks....

Hi,

I have just fitted one to Gayle's car. Fits exactly the same as yours. Badly.
Fortunately I didn't buy it, it came already fitted to my old car and I replaced it with my stainless system.
I managed to get it fitting slightly higher by using rubber ring mounts instead of the ones you are using ...
