End of an era : ( ....and the start of another

After 9 years of ownership parted with my scala recently, gutted to do so but I needed a practical daily with 5doors, especially with bambino 3 on the way. It was it or the bug and I had to let common sense dictate over my heart and part with the rocco. Hands down best car ever and nothing will ...

Re: Diesel Sciroccos

Guy I worked with put a MK2 Golf 1.6 GTD into a 16GT rocco back in the 90s. The GTD was his bros and he wrote it of. Said it was a great car as the 16GT was a bit slow and thirsty for him. Not sure where it ended up but I actually remember seeing in in autotrader about 15years ago.
With newer TDi ...

Heard they doing a rado tomorrow night, should be interesting! Not enough money in it for them to do a Scirocco yet.

Re: Mk2 respray

I would make sure you go and visit the painter, speak to them and look at their work before deciding. Ideally if you know someone that's had work done there before, have a look at their car and how it looks after a few months or so. If you pay £500 for a lash-over, you normally get what you pay for ...

Re: to keep kit or not

I like early non kitted mk2s as well, but have to be given the euro treatment, and the met brown would look great. If it's a car that needs alot of work and you're going to repaint it and having to de kit anyway to sort arches etc go for it, the kit can always be put back on.
