End of an era : ( ....and the start of another

Post by jim91 »

After 9 years of ownership parted with my scala recently, gutted to do so but I needed a practical daily with 5doors, especially with bambino 3 on the way. It was it or the bug and I had to let common sense dictate over my heart and part with the rocco. Hands down best car ever and nothing will compare to it! I'd mentioned the register to the new owner so he'll hopefully be on and hopefully have all the fun with it I did!

Picked this up as a replacement just over a week ago, 2002, 180bhp 1.8T, only 66k on it. Lovely motor

Sorry to see the Scirocco go, you are still missing a door on your daily as you said you wanted 5 but only have 4!
An estate car or people carrier is what you will be after next with 3 kids and the stuff which comes with them. :-)

Like you I made the transition 4 years ago from Scirocco to BMW Z4 Coupe. I have once again 4 years later made the transition to BMW X4 as I too needed the practicality moving forward. But hey Im still here posting this now, I have no doubt you will be in 4 years time too!

Im sure you will have another, one day..

It is a 5dr dude ;-) alot of folks think it's a saloon but actually a hatch, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasive boot on it. The thought of a people carrier scares me lol

I'm going to ask a really dumb question: Is it something within the VAG family, like maybe a Skoda?
I'm from USA and it doesn't look like anything we have here, but the styling is reminiscent of Mk4 Jetta (Bora) or maybe B5 Passat (hard to get a sense of size/scale from the picture). And it's a hatch you say :?:

Cool! I would change the grille (if possible) for something a little sportier, but other than that, pretty sweet looking car. :-)
[The grille reminds me of a Buick... looks a little out of place with the rest of the styling, to my eyes anyways.]

I found some pics online of the hatch open - pretty wild how the whole glass and everything lifts!
Must be extremely versatile... shame we never had those here.
Conditon and mileage seem excellent, congrats! :good:

Have seen a lot of folks doing the chrome part of grill satin black or colour coding it and looks well!
