totally agree with above fir new aerial in hole... access is as described, wheel off, arch liner off. aerials can be bought for a mere £5 unto £100 for dab ready electric/powered aerial.

better to replace both pumps and the fuel accumulator, that way you shouldnt need to revisit either anytime soon. Ive got new intank pumps, from peirburg, for 25£ posted .

You could always get different colur brake fluid and bleed it through until colour changes or drain system completely. and freshen with new oil

to be honest on my red mk1 gti sportline, the tank creates a vaccum when running and i end to open cap every 2 trips out to let it breathe, ive tried various things like cleaning antigravity valve, pumps, new caps.

Watch out. The golf reinforcement plates that are supposed to fit don't - very well. The bulkhead profile is slightly different and there's extra holes that you need to take care of. No one mentioned this to me when I bought a plate off of a seller on eBay. I have a couple of pics if interested ...

lol yes defo need more sun than feb/march heat gun or boiling water maybe. sadly it brittle, its 30yr old plastic... it may end up in oceans and land fills, but only crumbles to smaller parts.

is the metal rotten? thats the hard part to find.
the way plastic is held on is with wedges, remove wedges and the compress tabs the plastic will come away from the iron/steel. try a bit of hot air to soften them as they will be brittle. I got a better steel/iron from joost.. reattached all parts ...
