Re: ABF engine - no vacuum advance!

Thanks for the advice. I've since heard that a Saab 900 one will fit, or a 1.1 or 1.3 Mk1 Golf one also fits, but isn't electronic.
I didn't realise that vacuum was only used at low revs, might just stick with the ABF one for now.
Cheers,
Dave

ABF engine - no vacuum advance!

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice regarding best distributor choices for an ABF running carbs.

I've got almost everything I need to fit my ABF, which will be running twin DCOE 40's, but I'm wondering where I could get a distributor with vacuum advance for it from? In stock form, both KR and ABF seem to ...

Re: ABF exhaust manifold/downpipe

This is interesting. I can weld, so I might be able to frankenstein something in my garage. I'm running carbs, so it should be a bit easier for me. Thanks!
i made my own from abf manifold and downpipe flexi but after that its custom going into rocco downpipes collector.

Re: ABF exhaust manifold/downpipe

Thank you! It's good to know there are alternative ones on ebay. I might come back to you regarding the ABF manifold and flange as there is a local man, who makes full systems near here. Cheers!
I have the Heritage one too but there are copies on ebay for half the price.

The one in your first ...

Re: ABF exhaust manifold/downpipe

Thanks, this is really useful. I've just had a good look at your 4-2-1. I can see why you needed to wrap it. I believe this is generally a good move for performance benefits too.
I bought one from vw heritage and it still sits close to the uj, check my build out

The first is similar but its all ...

ABF exhaust manifold/downpipe

Hi everyone,

I guess I'm probably not the first person to ask this, but I've bought an ABF with twin45's for my Mk2. I've heard that there is no pre-manufactured exhaust manifold for this set up. I have however spotted this one on E-bay and was wondering if anyone on here might be able to verify ...

Re: Paint code information

Hi,

It's an early 1989, so manufactured in 1988. I tried a Halfords Tornado Red, but it was too much like a scarlet red when compared to the existing paint.

Thanks very much,
Dave

Paint code information

Hi everyone,

I've been struggling to get a paint code for my Mk2. I believe there should be a label in the boot. I can see that something was once there, but it has been peeled off. I'm not sure if there are any other stickers elsewhere on the car, but I'm hoping that someone might just recognise ...

Hi, I've been looking on ebay for one, but the bit that is glued onto the windscreen never comes with them. Do you know where I could get one of these from and did you use epoxy to attach it?

Thanks,
Dave
