Re: One for the more experienced!
Have you checked the earth to the rocker cover? I think I had a similar problem which turned out to be this. It sounds like an earthing problem somewhere, to me.

Re: Mk2 Scala 1.8 k jet - replace or repair restoration
I’d replace all of the bushes at one go if you’ve got the time and money. If you’re using it regularly and covering lots of miles, use OEM spec rubber bushes rather than polyurethane, unless your back isn’t important to you. In general, if you’re planning to keep it several years, do all the jobs pro ...

Re: mk1 storm
They would have had to leave the factory as Storms, because the paint colours and interior trim (leather etc) weren't used on any other models. It's purely that the dealers were somewhat less fastidious about how they described the cars when registering, than perhaps they should have been.

Re: More eBay madness
Some of the prices seem ok, some are crazy. I think they don’t really know how to value them, though it looks like they’ve dismantled at least two Storms.

Re: Fuel Pump Relay
Possibly worth pointing out that the right part for DX engine cars is this one, which is also half the price from VW:

I bought a new one from VW Classic Parts a year or two ago. Might still be available.

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi there, another white one! Sciroccos are notorious for getting damp inside, so marine ply would be a better choice for making your own parcel shelf than MDF.

Re: Factory rear inertia seatbelts - Mk2
I don't think 3-point inertia reel belts were fitted to any UK cars from the factory. I've only ever seen lap belts or 3-point static belts (aside from Securon etc. aftermarket ones). I don't see how the 3-points for securing the belts would be any different for factory inertia reel belts. One on ...

Re: Factory rear inertia seatbelts - Mk2
There are some threads on the C-pillars, which is where you attach the upper part of the 3-point belt. If you poke around with your finger, you should be able to feel them under the headlining.

Re: Mk1 Storm Value
I suspect the yellow would put the speculators off a bit. Even though the Storms in original paint colour that go for £2k-3k still need a full respray after restoration repairs. You might be looking closer to £1500-£2000. But if you’re only interested in selling to one person, you’ll just need to wor ...

"Needs a lot of welding work..."
Probably £2000 - £3000 judging by the last few restoration project Storms I've seen on eBay.
