Its back and ready 4 the summer!

Post by Tomsy »

Its back and ready 4 the summer! as above....
After dropping in my scirocco into the tuners 2 weeks ago, its been straight through an MOT and passed no problem.
Got the tyres changes, wheels aligned and steering sorted out. Engine revs were running too high and thats fixed now. rear wiper fixed, now actually works. Also the guy (whos sorting out my major skyline project) ran diagnostics on the car and said it for some reason was running really low bhp. So he waved his magic wand ... or some electronic thing i forget the name of... and now it runs like literally double the power of what it felt like before! can't remember what he said he did as i was in a bit of a rush but its sooo much faster off the mark than it was before. Like a brand new car. he also changed the rear brakes and changed the fluid etc and he said that no wonder i thought the brakes were bad, he nearly put his foot to the floor trying to stop it and turns out it just was a combination of fluid and wear problems. Car is still way to wobbly round corners for my liking but as soon as i get my r33 gtr back next month.... i dont think i'l care lol.
All i need now is some classic insurance. anyone know any good companies, ive been quoted £328 fully comp with no years no claims (using them else where) i'm 25 (adrian flux). cheers peeps!

Good story mate.
You try RH Insurance in Brentwood, I insure my Scala for £93 on a classic policy, fully comp 5k a year.

As a matter of interest what age must a car be to be on classic insurance.
Good to hear of another back on the road, maybe I'll be next ?????

Generally over 15 years but some companies are 20 years.

Glad to hear you've got the car on the road (well nearlly) and those brakes sorted.

Was it the timing the chap in the garage changed for you?

Also might be worth running the car on super unleaded as they really need 98RON petrol to get the best out if them.

Enjoy the car.

yeah i think thats what he said-timing. just took it for a drive now got tyre sorted and it feels great. so effortless to drive. once its had a good clean inside and out it will be much nicer though.
