Don't do it!!!

Post by ellzilcho »

Never ever put budget tyres on mk2 Scirocco gt2 no matter how skint you are. because the damage you incure by spinning into a tree costs alot more than a decent set of tyres!

On a related topic does anyone know if the rear axle beam from a mk1 golf fits a scirocco mk2 gt2 any help on this subject would be greatlty apreciated.

P.s I know im an idiot

Well after many many hours of loving labour, panel beating, parts sourcing and emptying my wallet asthetically you'd bearly know, however obviously i still need a rear axle beam so thank you very much for the reply. Car should be back on the road by the weekend. Bloody well built cars these maximum respect to VW.

Hope you get it all back to normal. I had budgets on my first mk2 rocco, and all i can say it was very tail happy. Was quite fun sometimes, but there were many times just driving normal all 4 wheels would start sliding going round a corner below speed limit.

Two things never to skimp on a car, tyres - the only thing keeping you on the black stuff and brakes - the only thing stopping you!
