Scirocco Register

im looking to replace this on my mk1 1979 1.6 scirocco for a webber but not sure of the exact carb thats currently on how can i find this out.

I only have a mk2 haynes, so from there:

1.6 is an EW or FR engine code,
EW has a 2E2
FR has a 2B5
There're pics of each in the Haynes.
If you're going to change for a Weber, I'm under the impression it'll be a 32/34 DMTL for either, but jetted to suit.

Of course, it being a mk1, that could all be irrelevant!

I'm attually running a webber jetted for a 1.8 on a 1.6 engine.. works fine!

You may find the carb on the earlier Sciroccos are made by Solex, someone maybe will confirm this.

Your 1979 Scirocco 1.6 should have the Pierburg 2B5 fitted to it using a semi-automatic choke.

The identification and model number of the carburettor is usually stamped into the side of the lower half of the carb casting and will probably be facing the offside of the car.

it says on carb zenith 2b, so can anyone give some advice on what webber i would need ?

From Weber Direct Replacement Catalogue from a few years back but should still stand.
