Brembo pads..

Hi all, anyone have any experience with these? I presume they must be reasonably decent being brembo, just thought i'd enquire.
Picked some up from gsf for just £15, they're a bit strange, (to me) in that they have two different pads for each side. I've matched them so that the same pad is on each side of the discs, ie. same pad on piston side / slave side. One of them has a very logn thin design, sits right at the edge fo the disc so presumably should give improved braking. :) Just wearing them in atm... forgot how fun that is!

Dunno.. the previous ones i had on it were the same both sides. Unless the ones i had previously were some really rubbish ones?

So are you saying you have fitted them with 2 pads the same shape on one wheel, and the 2 with the other shape on the other wheel? If so that is the wrong way. There should be 1 of each pad on each wheel with the long narrow one fitted on the slave (non piston) side.

I think (from what he's put) that he's used matching pads inboard of the discs, and the other set of matching pads roadside on the disc...

if they are fast road pads or similar, make sure you bed them in gently

There is one of each pad on each disc. And yes, i've fitted the long narrow ones to the slave side. So guess i got it right!! There was not a single helpful bit of advice with the pads. Except maybe dont eat them.
Not sure what spec they are, brembo pads weren't listed on gsf's website, i just got offered them at the till, thought i'd give them a shot!
Opinions on best way to bed the pads in? Just slow and gentle? And how do i tell when they are bedded in properly?

correct :)

can't work this one out. how could they be pre-bedded in to your discs?

Some pads come pre bedded in don't they?

I think they're more that thery dopn't have the daft glaze on them. They'll still need "shaping" to the existing discs, minor grooves and wotnot persisting.

Fitted new discs at the time, so it'd be irrelevant either way

The swirls from the discs machining are starting to go now... so they're getting there slowly!

even with a new discs, the pads will still want bedding in properly. if you don't there is a good chance of warping the disc. i've got no idea of the physics behind it, but i have done it twice - once on the rocco and once on one of my astras
