Possible Carbon/GRP Bonnet Group Buy

Post by filmidget »

Just a proposal at this stage, but with many thanks to Nyquist we have the following from Performance Trim (.com)

GRP Bonnet - full frame replica - £200+VAT

GRP Bonnet - single skin 'race' - £200+VAT

Carbon Bonnet - GRP inner frame - £395+VAT

Carbon Bonnet - carbon inner frame - £495+VAT

We would need a total order value of £2000 (ex-vat) in any combination of the above (ie 4 full carbon, or 5 carbon&GRP, or 10 GRP, or 2 carbon&GRP + 6 GRP, etc) before they would go ahead with the order. If the total order value reached £4000 there would be a 10% discount.

I have no information on weights of the items other than that they claim down to 3kg for a carbon 'race' type (no price supplied for this though).
I also have no information on delivery availability/costs.

So who is interested? Yes to which type, with very concise reasoning/provisoes only please.

I'd prob be interested in a GRP 'race' one .... really can't justify a carbon one, but if/when the order is placed I might be able to stretch that far.

I know you say you don't really know about weights, but it'd be nice to have a rough idea of differences between them.

I'm tempted by a GRP 'race' one, however, I don't know is a standard shape bonnet will fit over the engine I'm fitting..I'll have a test fit in a few days when the engine is in that bay and let you know.

For now though, put me down as a floater, there if the numbers need pushing up.

Well, it's been up nearly a week... and I think the lack of responses says it all :|

And to be honest, I also will be getting the grinder out...

If anythig changes for anybody, please just give me a shout :bye:

Hi

I must have missed this new feed....

I would like to have a GRP Bonnet - full frame replica - £200+VAT if and when there will be an order. I'm not bothered about the weight aspect but more the fact they dont rust. :chortle: Only have one question and it is not to do with weight, what are these like to paint and how good can you get the finish?

PS dont tell the fiancées
