Following my issues with my electrical system, I've been looking around under the dash and noticed that there are all sorts of wires taped off within the engine bay, the dash, the glovebox, etc etc from ex-alarms, home-bodged immobilisers, and god knows what else. This got me thinking about the possibility of rewiring the whole car.
Has anyone completely reloomed a Mk2 before? I understand doing the engine is relatively straightforward, but what about the underdash / fusebox / interior lights wiring? How easy is it to get replacement looms? Would it have to be from a Scirocco or Mk1 Golf, or would other VW models have the same layout?

Re: Reloom
it's a pain in the bum, but not really difficult. i put a new loom into my scala. it came from a b3 passat, and went in at the same time as digipants injection. if you can get a complete loom from the same car it will be really easy, just rather time consuming
