Yes, that part is exactly the same on the Scirocco, I believe.

Thats the right part if you need the bit where the beam bolts to, have used them on my current resto it goes here:
There is also another part which runs further back (rear chassis leg plate) which sounds more like what you mention is rusty they do these on Big Boys Toys: http://www.vwheritage.com/bbt/Body/Stan ... lateID=bbt you can also get a discount if you mention the register from them.

All the floor, with the exception of the outer sills is the same as a mk1 Golf mate
I see that Phil has also had that dubious pleasure! I've whacked a guide for repairing the rear axle beam mounts up on the FAQ Jakey, it lives here: http://sciroccoregisterforum.co.uk/faq/ ... o-mk1golf/
Further along the back I have encountered the same prob with Seans car that I think you are having. It looks like this yeah?
rust, holes and crud.
Hope these pics are useful so you can see what you are getting into in advance!
This is the box section at the rear with the crap cut out, you can get the whole section to where it almost meets the axle mount from BBT as Phil says (discount!), but I was doing more of a localised repair so I used steel to the same guage. The box section is spot welded to wheel tub and boot floor.
different angle on the above
I built up the repair from the wheeltub first to get the angle correct where it curves around, then put in the box section and rewelded the exhaust hanger and projection.
hope this helps bud

Are you are a god send.
Pictures are spot on the problem, will be ordering the parts pronto. Will be having a striping out session on the car tomorrow, going to remove the front wings
and have a good look up along front pillers where the wings mount to. Underthe bonnet tho seems sound..
Cheers for the pointers in the right directions chaps..

Re: Started a mk1 resto,low key tho.shhhh
what is that sticky out square bit actually for? i found out with my scala that they ain't strong enough to jack on
Re: Started a mk1 resto,low key tho.shhhh
Been busy with the camera, while stripping her down.
Check it out guys, looks like the angle grinder, blow torch and scrappers are coming out big time.....
drivers side front of front wing where it meets valance
drivers side "A" piller, bottom of where sill meets
Drivers side rear chassis/valance. Noticed it's had work before.
And this is the passenger side,
Much better than the drivers side, but a bit weak in areas.
Other than the rear chassis the cars floor pans, under the bonnet & the usall areas seem very sound.
