Fast running from cold
My MK2 Scirroco (which has been laid up for a few years) races like crazy for about 10 minutes after starting from cold. Can anyone shine any light on the fault please?

Autochoke? I assume it has one, mine does the same. Mine goes up to 2k revs for a bit until it does down.

Thanks for the tips but I feel its more than the obvious, its a carb fed engine by the way, I remember reading somewhere about an O ring in the cooling system or something that deteriorates over time and causes this kind of problem?
